Kassy Levels - Storyteller CD Release Party
Kassy's CD release party was also a book drive benifiting BookDriveForKids.com, where people were encouraged to donate a book at the door. Kassy also had some special guests from the North Texas Advocacy Center in attendence. The got to go backstage before and after the show, they also got her autograph. It was a pleasure to see Kassy using her talents for the benifits of others. Actually it's quite incredible to think that she is only turning 15 in April. Kassy is truly backed up by friends and family. Her keyboardist/backup vocalist is her older sister, Kayla. Another keyboardist & electric guitar player, J.R. is a distant relative. And her dad, Kevin was playing the bass guitar. The other band members were Andrew on drums, and Ryan on lead guitar. Here are some of my favorite photos from the Kassy Levels - Storyteller CD release party.

The pack also got to hear from a veteran how Tommy Folks served our country faithfully and died in Iraq in October 2005. To all the men and women serving the United States of America: Thank you. More photos from the service project |
I got the opertunity to photograph Kassy Levels' CD release party last night at the Plano Courtyard Theater. The theater is intimate and made for a great venue for the party. Kassy and the live band put on a great show. It was quite amazing, I showed up around 3:30pm and the band was just doing sound checks, followed by a quick run through of the show. By 5pm, sound check was done, time for quick dinner, hair & makeup, and some marketing. Everything was very well planned by her mother and managers - Teresa Lickliter & Schonte’ Hamilton.
The kids have a little bowling game, it came with two shiny (not black) blowing balls. I slapped my extension tubes on my camera and snapped off a few, this is what I got. Nothing "fancy", I'm sitting on my entry way floor.

This weekend my son's Cub Scout Pack 200 performed a service project by putting flags on veterans graves at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX. It was nice to slow down and give back to the men and women who have served our country.
